Here is a link that shows a proliferation, gives a little info and some photos, shows what it looks like when it is cut off the scape. For those who have never seen a prolif or grown them out.

Here is an AHS link about proliferations. I was looking for what causes them, and how to promote them, but it appears nobody knows. I was also wondering if they only occur on mature or older plants, anyone ever have them on a plant younger than three years?
