My shot of this Wild Senna is shown with a companion plant, the Mistflower (Conoclinium Codestinum). These are prolific in July at Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve in Bucks County, Washington Crossing, Pa. This preserve is home to nearly 800 of the 2,000 species native to Pennsylvania, and is a non profit organization. If you are in the area, DO try and go by for a visit...each month has different growing beauties. July offers Mistfower, Wild Senna, Joe-Pye-Weed, wild blue phlox, and Wild Hibiscus (swamp rose Mallow). It is a National Historic Landmark area...Bowman's Hill is named after one of the first settlers, and Bowman's Hill Tower commemorates George Washington crossing the Delaware River in 1776.
