You could try a cage of sturdy wire-netting. Make sure the access door is secured with a raccoon-proof catch. You are right about blood meal being no use as a raccoon deterrent. They are deterred by hot pepper, but do you want hot raspberries? Good luck matching wits with the little furry bandits!
