Slow release pellets supposed to provide nitrogen.I have used Milorganite for 15 years on Daylilies. It is a very weak fertilizer but more useful as a deer repellant. Just spread a handful around the plant. Will keep deer away for a few weeks or until the first real hard rain. When first planting new daylilies, I add a handful into the hole then set plant into the hole. Has not burned one plant yet.
