My veggie garden is the highlight of the summer for me. Yes, I have plenty of flowers and I do love my flowers but but the veggies are extra special.
I like to bring back my favorites year to year and then each year I always try out at least some new to me varieties. Especially in tomatoes. So many out there to try. That way I find new favorites too.
Then there are things like summer squash. I grow many varieties from seed. The nursery has common green zucchini seedlings simply labeled green zucchini. It also has yellow summer squash labeled as such. No variety designation. So by growing my own from seed I get so many really nice summer squash here.
