I never realized the native lotus they got to be 6'. There is a pond full of them in a nearby wildlife preserve. From the road they are beautiful but I never saw them up close and personal to note the height.
How about water cress or water chestnuts, they would stay low.
Minds are like parachutes; they work better when they are open.
