Here are two more daylilies with HUGE edges. For me getting a huge frilly edge up here in Vermont is not an easy task. Just like you need extended hot temps to get teeth formation on the newest toothy wonders, the same applies for big frilly edges. We had 1 day this summer at 90 degrees, and both these daylily's were blooming at that time. Hallelujah! Another reason, I love Nicole's plants. They outperform in my garden in the Northeast. The following 2 daylilies carry huge edges. I adore both of these plants, but neither has shown me a decent edge until one day a few weeks ago.
Both are huge blooms.
'Ted's Tribute to Linda' - 8" bloom - simply huge. This is the best bloom I have seen on this plant as far as edge goes. It is a spectacular plant but hangs up on me when trying to open. Now this isn't a perfect edge but its pretty darn good. A beautiful lavender bloom surrounded by a yellow edge with yellow eye. This is the 3rd yr. in my garden. Love, love, love this plant.
The second daylily with edge problems that did very well this summer, and another fav. of mine is:
<------------------->
'Elvis' - Lavender cream, 6.5" bloom. This plant is crossed with 'Best Edge'. Took along time to grow in my garden (3 yrs) but sent up two scapes this summer on 4 fans. Edges are not perfect but getting there. I love this plant as well.
Both plants are still blooming in the garden.
