Another tidbit. For 3 yrs. I have used 'organic alfalfa meal', not the pellets. I have to order that over the Internet (50 lb. bags). It's expensive because of shipping costs. But 1 bag lasted me 2 1/2 yrs. This year, I tried the pellets. Oh my goodness, what a difference. Never again. It turned all my dayliliy blooms into this orange color when they first bloomed. I was aghast. Many blooms returned to there original specs after awhile, but for me it was a lesson learned. I like the organic alfalfa meal, and will go back to that. My daylilies also thrived and grew much bigger with the meal. Lesson learned. You get what you pay for. Also, one bag of pellets was used up in a month, where 1 bag of the meal lasted 2 1/2 yrs. Just 'my' personal reflections for my garden in VT.
