I initially ordered and planted the subulata type, and they were gorgeous .... then bought the next year the stolonifera type, which I do not like and has not performed well at all, so I'm digging it up and replacing it with more of the subulata phlox which will cascade over my brick wall in the front of the house. It puts on quite a show in the Spring ! I just love it .
