It is extremely to tell from the out of focus photos but it does look like it may be Pothos Pothos (Epipremnum aureum) Pothos can take lower light situations than other plants and are fairly drought tolerant once established. I have a couple growing indoors in very low light. My opinion on the possible reason for the leaf turning yellow is maybe it's buried too deep in the soil. You can lay a stem on top of soil and weigh it down with a rock ... the plant will produce roots from each node that is touching the soil and eventually produce new stems and leaves.
