We have firefighters from all over the world here now - Canada, Australia, New Zealand. I saw a cool video of some firefighters from South Africa who are up in B.C. They got in a circle and did this kind of chant and dance thing, all dressed up in their yellow shirts and green pants before they headed out. How do we get the dancing firemen?!

I think it's great that they are making it easier for civilians to help out. Lots of people around here are experienced, own equipment, and are dying to just help out anyway they can. I think they have some kind of program going now that helps people get their red card faster with some kind of quickie refresher course if they have some experience as well.
