Thank you for your quick answers!

I gave a second look at the Calotropis species, their new growth does not look like the new growth on the mystery plant (third picture, the one in the right corner) and it does look like a ficus new growth.
Another thing that caught my eye is the way the leaves grow, on the mystery plant the leaves grow unequal on the stem while on the Calotropis species they are somewhat equal.

Never thought about growing this desert sun lover inside the house :)

[UPDATE] Could it be: Ficus Benghalensis - Banyan Tree (Ficus benghalensis) ??
