But if you keep cutting them down eventually I imagine they'll give up and the root system will die. If it's a place where you can just mow over it that would be most convenient.

There are herbicides that will kill it but these all carry their own risks.

If it was me I'd just keep keeping it cleared away, expecting it to eventually give up the ghost.
