What i love so much about this image is the story behind it. There had been a tropical storm the night before i snapped this photo. The storm lasted no more than about an hour and a half, but there was wind, heavy, heavy rain, and hail and yet the bloom looks like it had experienced nothing more than a leisurely bath. I was surprised to see the bloom whole the next morning because the petals are so delicate-looking. Perhaps all the Tropical Hibiscuses (or all Hibiscuses) have this ability to weather such a downpour of water and hail, but i had never noticed it before so specifically. So delicate-looking and yet so strong, another one of Mother Nature's tricks; amazing.
