From my one year experience of growing from seeds, adeniums are survivors: they adapt to all kinds of weather except extreme cold and wet, compacted soggy soil. They respond to light, temperature, humidity, and adjust their growth accordingly. Examples: If they are not getting enough water, they will lose their leaves to conserve water and will be stunted (go dormant); if too much direct sun, they will fold up their leaves to lessen transpiration of water. There are other ways they respond but can not come up with them right now.
