I got an email message yesterday that my plant was being shipped. It arrived late this afternoon! I think it arrived so quickly because the company is in Florida and I live in Florida!

I was impressed that the UPS man delivered it standing up (correctly via arrow pointing which direction was UP!). I took it out to my backyard to unpack. Here are some photos:

I had bought 2 of the Black Diamond Crimson Red from Home Depot a month ago. One has not been planted yet because I am watching to see where it floods in my backyard first. (I don't want to kill it by planting it in a flood zone.) The other is already planted in the front yard and doing great. In this photo you can see the difference in size of the 1 gallon vs. the new 3 gallon plant. The 3 gallon looks huge in comparison. I am seriously tempted to dig the front crape myrtle back up and plant my new 3 gallon Best Red in it's place. This new tree is much bigger, so will grow faster which would be a plus in my front garden. The 2 smaller crapes will be planted in the backyard and would look consistent in color since they are both the same cultivar, so will likely be my job this weekend. I love these crape myrtles! That black foliage and those red blooms are really eye-catching! And I think it will serve the purpose of privacy during the growing season and perches for the birdies in Winter!

I was VERY IMPRESSED with the packing and shipment of this tree! The tree is healthy and lush and looks like it is going to take off growing once planted! Great communication by the company via email. If anyone is wanting to purchase a crape myrtle tree, this is the place to get it from! I have not seen any of the Black Diamond Crape Myrtles for sale locally that looked as lush or large as the one I received from Plant Me Green. They also included a planting guide with diagrams. Excellent company and customer service! I am VERY pleased with my NARR gift! THANK YOU to Plant Me Green for your VERY generous donations to ATP's August Not-a-raffle Raffle! I couldn't be happier! Thank You! Thank You! Thumbs up
