I would not use root stimulator to "correct" AVs that had too much sun (ie, show signs of leaf scorch like brown spots or, in the case of variegation, they stop showing variegation). You just need to give them indirect sunlight. If planning to root leaf cuttings, you do not need root stimulator either. I remember putting the cuttings in water such that the leaf was on top of small rocks with the leaf tip just touching the water. It was a pain though since I needed to check the water levels daily for about -eh- two weeks maybe? before roots developed.
