Could you use a similar coding as the "unfinished thread/finished thread" or "not identified/identified" function to sort them?
Then, in a similar manner, you could have a list on the forum's right-side column listing:
» View only Daylily threads
» View only Plumeria threads
» View only Salvia threads
et cetera
