Avian surprises are interesting: I've had the good fortune over the years, to be the recipient of different annuals/perennials from the birds (which I relocate so they can indulge themselves in their own containers).
What I have found disconcerting is purchasing plants that are mis-labeled. I have a preference for certain colour combinations in containers, so when any rogue colours show up, it just creates more work. This year it involved a number of Pelargoniums & Callibrachoa, neither of which are inexpensive. Trying to re-plant a container in July is shaky, plus the options aren't available as by that time, the nurseries have sold most of their stock. Next year, I will follow my own advice & start replacements from seed, in the event I need them!
Cannot believe I am thinking about next year already...
