Just updating status of my Oncidiums that I moved to these coir containers in 2013. It took awhile to adjust, so far still alive . We just have this horrible ongoing drought, hard to keep our humidity here. But I have learned to give them a good thorough shower at least once or twice a week and occasional spritzing.
Made me understand just how tough those roots will grow..it grew right throught the back of the container and is holding on:
I have this Maxillaria tenuifolia in one of the containers too. I have been remiss with this one, but it bloomed though a bit constricted in late Spring. I see slow new growth coming about, so I am reassured it is still coping. Just got to help all of the orchids get early morning spray or shower to endure our hot summer days.
Another heat wave week here..thankful the orchids are coping.
