I looked out the window, this morning....rubbing the sleep out of my eyes, and planning my day, and, there in one of the iris bed.......a "tree rat"....chewing on "something".....holding it in his little ,hairy paws, and turning it around like a kid with an ear of corn! Sure enough, the fuzzy little thing had yanked up an iris rhizome, then planted a black walnut ,in it's place.....and, I suppose to spite me, for hauling so many of his buddies away, had chewed up the rhizome
! I replanted the rhizome.......and moved the live trap a little closer to that bed
.......he'll be back tomorrow, to plant another walnut, I'll bet
