This is certainly one suggestion to hold onto!
Used a combination of liquid soap - vegetable oil - water - a touch of garlic ---- sprayed on Daylily plants when the buds had been a Deer-Snack ..... only returned once that I could spot -- one more bud chewed half-way off ---- when it opened, it was a very odd looking !
