Fred - The conversation about names really peaked my interest, so I took a look at the AHS website. On this web page:
http://www.daylilies.org/AskTh...

I found this and I am quoting from the source about requesting a name for a plant:

1) The name must not cause confusion by echoing a name already in use.
2) The name must not exaggerate the merits of the plant.
3) The name cannot exceed thirty characters in length.
4) The name must not give the impression that the plant is derived from or related to another plant, if that is not the case.

The full list of rules may be found on the AHS website, under Registering a Daylily. A new edition, with some changes, was published in the fall of 2009.

Now I understand the rules for naming a daylily plant and why. Thumbs up Your rules echo the AHS rules! I have not named or registered a daylily yet to know about this, so the AHS information was very informative to someone like me who didn't really know. Smiling
