I live in SC also on the coast but in the woods of the Lowcountry. The coyote problem here is terrible and is taking a toll on our deer population... We see them at the hunting club all the time or at least evidence that they have been there.... I have had good luck with milorganite but I also use hair from my hairdresser that I spray with some cheap perfume from our local dollar store. This keeps the deer totally confused!!! But hey, it works and it's cheap, I tie the hair in stockings to make it last longer... Thumbs up
