It's really rare that one can ID an iris from a photo alone. There are several historics that look like yours. The best way to compare them is to get a known rhizome and plant it next to the unknown one and see if they grow to the same height, bloom at the same time, have the same fragrance, and then tear the bloom apart to compare them down to the last detail. I think you would get some good results by posting your question on the Iris forum. There are some really knowledgeable people there who grow and study the historic irises.
@crowrita1 has one of the largest collections of historics that I know of. Maybe he can weigh in on this question. Good luck! Smiling
