Geof, are you sure the dahlia of your Avatar is Mingus Gregory? It does not look anything like the pics of MG on the web. Your Avatar flower is much more beautiful than MG, IMHO. Oh, I am so glad that you mentioned Cafe Au Lait as a late bloomer. I thought it was me! I did not get one flower until early September. They are filled with buds now but seem so slow to mature and open.
Arlene, do you still have Tartan? This is one dahlia that does not produce many flowers but each one that opens is just as breathtaking as the next. They were all different for me.
