I got started by getting some free daylilies from a friend. She had to move and was digging up a lot of her plants to take to her new home. At that time, I didn't care about names, although I doubt that she had names for them either.
After that I began to purchase them and kept track of names. I think some of the first ones I purchased were Barbara Mitchell, Ed Murray, Through Dark Waters, Lumbee Pride, Golden Scroll, and the whole thing just SNOWBALLED from there. I'm hooked. Here are the pictures of the free unknown daylilies that started it all. The last one is a ditch lily. But it's pretty. The yellow one, second from the last, is a VERY VERY early bloomer. WAY before any others (even Stella do Oro) bloom.
