Do you have a porch or covered patio? Or perhaps an eave that would provide shade during the hottest part of the day?

My MIL had a huge staghorn that lived in the shade of a hackberry tree. When the tree had to be removed, my FIL took a large hanging basket,( the open wire type usually used with a coir mat) and attached the bottom of it to a slab of drift wood. He used sphagnum moss to line the attached basket and added growing mix and wired the fern into place.

He attached the driftwood to the East facing wall of the house with a couple hooks and wire. That was at least 15 years ago. The fern did quite well and remained happy and productive (pups) until he passed away a couple years ago. Here is a link suggesting care.
