Libby - Your day sounded miserable. Ugh. So sorry to hear you are getting such cold temps. You have long winters, we have long, hot summers. Neither is good for gardening..... Sticking tongue out Sad

We have our first official cool day today. I went out this morning and it was in the 60's. So nice! But it is already heating up, so it was very short-lived. Glare

The past cool early Spring day that I was talking about was in the low 50's early morning and then got up into the low 60's. But no rain like you had (which certainly makes the temps even colder.) I had a daylily seedling bloom which was slow to open but it stayed open until later the next day. Kinda neat to see one remain open for more than just 8-10 hours before it starts wilting.

I honestly don't mind 50's weather outside if there is not high humidity or wind. Since I don't get snow here, it is often dry in Winter so it is usually nice outside. Rain and wind always makes it a little bit too cold for comfort on some days. I will admit that I am really spoiled living in central Florida. The summer heat is the only thing that makes it challenging at times. The coldest days are often for a very brief time and are easily bearable. And in my opinion .... nice! Smiling
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us.
