Is there some reason you can't just live with it? I have it as a ground cover in a fairly large bed and just grab handfuls of it and pull it out to the ground, not trying to dig out the roots. That sets it back until time to weed again. Personally, I find it easier than some of my other weeds, and it gives me pretty yellow flowers and a soft green underlayment to the bed.
