Almost all the roses coming from Central and South America are treated with an appalling amount of chemicals. If you haven't read Amy Stewart's book "Flower Confidential", it's an eye opener to the cut flower industry.... and also the history of the 'Stargazer Lily'. Good read. She talks about what a cut rose goes through to be shipped to the US.
The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that it has never tried to contact us.
