Some more progress is evident at week's end. The columns are all clad as is the beam and the first coat of paint has been done. The ceiling has been closed in and the beaded board is now stained. The AC/heat unit is hung but that still is a work in progress. I am not happy with the esthetics of the unit so that will have to be improved. All the glass panels, doors, and windows are in. The gutters are hung but still have to be tied together and downspouts placed. Tying together four roof lines with guttering has been a challenge.

The porcelain tile floor is supposed to be put down Tuesday/Wednesday, and when it is cured and sealed, I can begin moving my work bench and furniture inside the solarium. The painters are supposed to be (mostly) done Monday, sealing the stained ceiling and putting a second coat on all the painted surfaces. The gutters are supposed to be all tied together and downspouts installed Monday so that there will be no more Niagara Falls events on the glass structure. We had a severe thunderstorm yesterday afternoon and you should have seen the cascade of water pouring over the glass roof.

The solarium space is still a mess (as is the patio). Since the tile starts going down on Tuesday, there is a lot of cleaning up to do before that happens.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.
