Dear Sandy, Hampton Court is strange as you walk down the north long water to the River Thames at the bottom. For it was here that Queen Anne Boleyn walked down in 1536 to be taken down the river to the Tower of London for treason. Two days later she was executed on Tower green A few more followed her fate, and many other people as well.
Even on a good day the wind blows straight off the Thames and up the long water, weird to think you are walking on the same route the Queen did in 1536 knowing she would meet her end.
Regards.
Neil.
