Can anyone tell me with at least some sort of confidence whether or not almond trees can be expected to grow in Michigan?
In particular, I'm interested in growing the All-In-One Almond (because I've read that Hall's Hardy isn't worth the trouble), but I have precious little information about how well it would be expected to do here in Michigan. I've found reports online that state how many almond farms there are (I think it said 2) in the state. An excerpt I found online from The Michigan Gardening Guide also suggests that almonds can be grown here...but I didn't find information on varieties or even whether or not it is recommended.
If I have a decent shot at success with growing an almond tree in my backyard, I really want to plant one so that I can harvest almonds in the future, especially if the drought knocks out large portions of the almond production in California.
