My mourning doves that come to the feeder do vary in size quite a bit. Sometimes they're not much bigger than a grackle, but sometimes they're big enough to weigh down the spring mechanism on the feeder so that the seed ports shut . . . I figure it serves them right for being so fat! (it's a "squirrel-proof" feeder that is designed to shut if a squirrel gets on it).
