Well, I was outside pulling weeds around my different garden beds and watering the new daylily raised beds and notice a scape on one of my newest acquisitions that sure popped up fast. I received my first order ever from Maryott's on Sept. 25 and one of the triple fanned daylilies was Zoe Allegra. She now has this scape from one fan and another scape forming in a second fan. Zoe Allegra is supposed to be a mid-season bloomer, so is this unusual for this cultivar to bloom now? Or do these daylily nurseries do some kind of treatment (fertilizer?) to get them to bloom after they dig and ship them to their customers? To say that I am surprised to see a scape (or two) on a newly received daylily in October is an understatement!
