I have this cultivar! Thumbs up Thumbs up

As I only started growing (dare I say 'collecting'? Rolling on the floor laughing ) Daylilies this year my plants are still very young and not really settled yet.
Walt Reinke was my first UF and I was rather disgruntled when I received the plants...
They were cut very short and sprigly Thumbs down

But within 2 weeks the foliage started growing

and, even though it still didn't look like much, 3 weeks later they showed nice, fat, buds Lovey dubby

(sorry about the terrible photo, I took it because of the foliage, not the buds..)

First couple of flowers looked a bit 'off',

but after that they started looking better and better!

Foliage nor scapes were much higher than 50cm, but I suppose that was because the plants were not mature, nor settled in.
Also the place where I had put them was not ideal: right next to a big Syringa vulgaris tree Thumbs down
so too much shade and perhaps not enough water.. Crying

Plants were planted June 4th, I had 3 scapes with a total of 19 flowers, first flower on July 12th, last on July 26th.

I am content with how it did this first summer, trusting that Walt Reinke will perform better next year Thumbs up
