Hi Dennis,

Prior to our move we were on a city lot with a number of our neighbor's trees hanging over top of some of our plants.
Ones that did quite well with this "umbrella" included:

Strawberry Candy
Siloam Double Classic
Pumpkin Pie Spice
Rayon Double
Africa

Some that did poorly were:

Precious Candy
Red Rum
Sabine Bauer

What is interesting is that now we have all our plants in full sun some are struggling.

Ida's Magic is probably the worst. Seems that it wants a little shade.
There are a number of others that we have that were quite new to us before we moved that now are
quite slow to increase. Perhaps this is a sign that some shade is preferred.
Examples include:

Chartered Course
Cherry Valentine
Chili Spice
Copperhead Road
Dominic Brock Cain
Francois Verhaert
Lady Betty Fretz
Lee Pickles

Hope that is some help!
Giles
May the blooms be with you!
