Tell me why people stopped this way of life? Was it because after WW2 such work was considered inferior? Why is it now that the US can't find enough young people to pick the crops? It's silly! I
I spoke to an older woman ( in her 80's about 2 years ago) about why she "hated" home vegetable garden.
Why? They reminded her of the war and being hungry. That it made her feel ashamed for the people who were growing their own food.
That they must be poor. Gosh! I hadn't considered that.
