Elaine, I am happy the 'Kodama' quit sulking!
A few years ago I divided my plant which had totally climbed out of its original pot, and had three foot! long roots. I split the plant but had to damage some of those roots. Finally I see again a bunch of new growths and the roots start growing again too. The plant is btw bare root anchored in a home-made wire contraption to be able to hang it up.
