Poor you, David....I feel your pain. I have PP all over my place....miss being barefoot in the yard all the time 
The first year here my son came for the weekend...told him to be careful of the PP. Being a rotten know it all "kid", he informed me he was fine... had sneakers on. Could not help myself...laughter flew out of my mouth before I could catch it 
The hateful spines (as I call them) will also flat the tires on the garden tractor. At the moment I have 2 or 3 cans at the ready....wonder how many times it can be used on the same tire
