KD, I also wonder why they do that, I also saw that when they grow Sanseveira in the Philippines, like they will put the half eggshell right at the tip of the leaves. I want to think it is for calcium needs..but I do not think that is the reason though for them..I think they just find it decorative But I will try to ask again some friends over there..hopefully someone knows!
