What is it with some orchids blooming out of what looks like a dead sheath?...is it a particular trait associated with a certain family?...or just a random thing? I used to clean up my plants when moving them from the greenhouse to outside and again when moving back indoors. I was stunned that several months after the clean up 3 big fat buds grew out of the stump.
Elaine...tell me more about the Friday field trip you have planned...I have a thing in my neighborhood that I have to be back for by around 3...
