Wow - getting filled rain barrels down to the basement sounds challenging. I once saw a gray water hookup for a washing machine done on This Old House. Are you on a well?
We have a local owl - I think it's a barred owl based on its call. Do their calls change with the season? It used to be the "who cooks for you" call but now it's down to 5 notes, if it's the same owl.
No icing here yet. Will be another day of leaf shredding/collecting.
