Frugal Gardener Garden Procrastinator I helped beta test the first seed swap Plant and/or Seed Trader Seed Starter Region: Pacific Northwest
Photo Contest Winner: 2014 Avid Green Pages Reviewer Garden Ideas: Master Level Garden Sages I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database! I helped plan and beta test the plant database.
DnD, I used "Not Ready" or "Unavailable" for seeds I PLAN to offer but not yet split and labelled.

I felt guilty when I reduced the number of offers of one thing, as if someone was waiting with bated breath for my two old pkts of some vegetable, but I think that's silly. It ain't a promise until the swap starts.

I've been keeping a paper list of how many pkts of each thing I have "ready to go".
Then I mark my paper list with the number offered to the Beta Swap.
Like: HAVE 9 OFFER 5

That's how I reserve some for the "First Swap" after the "Beta Swap".

(P.S. I used to have two Thai Fighting Fish, but no more. How can I enter a Beta Swap with no Betas?)

Eventually I'll mark up the paper again with any pkts NOT taken during the Beta Swap.

I figure that my pieces of paper serve some of the same purpose as Dave's eventual feature for tracking what we HAVE as well as what we OFFER.

During initial development, StickyNotes and pieces of paper have many valid uses!
