There are light meter smartphone apps that could give you a comparison, I assume they use the cameras sensors. I do have a physical light meter as well that gives foot candle readings, it's made by Hydrofarm and I got it from Lee Valley. I don't know how "good" it is since it's the only one I've got so can't compare. It wasn't expensive.
