There is no published information about the effect of pods on daylily growth and flowering. However, it is likely that the effects of setting many pods on a single scape would be visible in the next year (or growth cycle) of that fan or crown. It would also depend on the number of fans in one crown and whether they had set pods and how many. It would also depend on how well the daylilies are being grown - that is how close to optimally they are watered, fertilized, divided, weeded, etc.
