Some places got lots of rain and strong winds - just about every low lying area flooded. I saw numerous canals on my way to work that were brimming with water. I'd not seen them that filled up before. One of the roads I take to work was flooded too - people were still driving through it eventhough there were stalled vehicles in the way. You know if you see all five lanes under water and stalled vehicles the FBI would say that'a a clue!!! DOH!!! I drive an SUV that is higher off the ground than normal cars but I decided not to risk it with all the water sloshing around from the traffic. It was easy enough to back track and catch another road.

The news showed some houses that resembled islands - they were completely surrounded by water that was knee high and higher in depth! The county workers have been really quick at bringing in pumps to siphon off the water from the residential locations. There are still lots of crop fields that are flooded. Doesn't look like they'll be getting any assistance - so it will have to be left up to Mother Nature to dry them out or up to the owners to pump it out themselves...but even then...the ditches around them are already flooded - no place for the water to run off too. The humidity is killing us now. Dang, it's bad!!!

Where I live all is well. Got a good dose of rain and wind but nothing damaging. Had a little hummingbird camp out on my back porch during the hurricane. It found a wire hanging basket to be the perfect perch where it could guard the feeder and remain sheltered from the rain and wind. I watched it for a while and even made up another feeder with fresh nectar to keep the little bugger happy.

The caterpillar I have looks just like your TPS. It's been the same size since I collected it. It doesn't eat much - wish it would hurry up and pupate!

My idea of housework is to sweep the room with a glance.
