Thanks, Geoff. I was very brave and divided the dahlias as I dug them - only about 10 so far. One was hopeless with a weak stem but no big loss. Ferncliff Copper is the winner so far! With my tremors, combined with sharp tools, I was hesitant to try but once I did the first three the confidence grew. Of course, I couldn't spot any eyes but another dahlia lover said he cuts back the stem and tries to divide in thirds or fourths; it worked! Spring will tell me if it's a plan than works for me. I hope so! It was great digging weather at 53 with barely a breeze and full sunshine.
