in the deep south tip of Texas
Caterpillar Host: Tiny Tim (Thymophylla tenuiloba), Beggar Ticks (Bidens ssp.), Common Chickweed (Stellaria media), Dogweed (Dyssodia ssp.), Greenthread (Thelosperma ssp.), Spanish Needles (Bidens bipinnata)

Butterfly Food: flower nectar

Family: Sulphurs

Scientific Name: Nathalis iole

Common in the southern United States. Tends to flutter along in open habitats, fields, deserts, vacant lots. Normally flies low to the ground. Has multiple broods in the south. The Dainty Sulphur is the smallest sulphur. Hindwing below pale yellow to a grayish green. Forewing below has black spots submarginally. Black mark at tip of forewing top. Small splash of orange near base.
